my portion
(2003)
This song is very special to me. I don’t play piano nearly as much as the guitar, but it seems it’s the prayerful worship songs that come out of my time on the keys. "My Portion" is taken from the Psalms. It's simply a proclamation of God's faithfulness; how He is the beginning and the end and everything in between. It’s a prayer really. I am just so thankful to know Him.
You are my portion You are my cup What happens when the service is over What happens when I give up
You're above me, below me, beside You're in front, and behind, You're alive You’re the why and what for You’re the one that I adore You are God and I am not and that's enough You are God and I am not and that's enough
You lift me out of my troubles You heal me from my shame Lord how did I get to be so helpless But praise you Lord, You remain
You're above me, below me, beside You're in front, and behind, You're alive You’re the why and what for You’re the one that I adore You are God and I am not and that's enough You are God and I am not and that's enough
Tear back the skies and lift your eyes know that God is with you Call out His name with no restrain He will see you through, yeah It doesn’t matter what the sin, it's never too late to begin To believe, to receive, glory to His name
You're above me, below me, beside You're in front, and behind, You're alive You’re the why and what for You’re the one that I adore You are God and I am not and that's enough You are God and I am not and that's enough
